Bouncer app icon — a yellow rounded square with a dark forking arrow symbol Bouncer

Choose a browser for any link with Option+click

A browser picker for the links your rules don’t cover.

The short answer

Hold Option and click a link in any app that isn’t a browser. Bouncer shows a small panel under your pointer with your browsers and profiles, each with a shortcut key. Press a key and the link opens there. Links you click normally keep following your rules.

How to set it up

  1. Install Bouncer and make it your default browser.
  2. Hold Option and click a link in Mail, Slack, Messages, or any other app that isn’t a browser. You can change the keys you hold in settings.
  3. Press the key next to a browser or profile, or click it.
  4. Picking the same place for the same kind of link every time? Turn it into a rule and stop choosing.

Questions

No. The picker only appears when you hold your shortcut. Every other link follows your rules, or opens in your fallback browser.

Both have a picker too. The difference is in the rules around it. See Bouncer vs Choosy, Velja, OpenIn, and Finicky.
