Open each client’s links in that client’s profile
For consultants, contractors, and MSPs who work in many client accounts.
Sound familiar?
You work for three clients, or thirty. Each one has its own Microsoft 365 or Google account, so you keep a browser profile for each. But a link from Slack, Mail, or Outlook opens in whichever profile you used last. You get a “request access” page, or the wrong client’s admin portal. So you copy the link, switch profiles, and paste it again, many times a day.
The short answer
Bouncer becomes your default browser and sends each link to the right client’s profile. A rule can match the Slack workspace or the Mail account a link came from, or the client’s own address, like acme.sharepoint.com. Set it up once for each client, and their links open in their profile from then on.
How to set it up
- Make one browser profile for each client, in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, or Dia, or one Arc space for each, and sign in to that client’s accounts there.
- Install Bouncer and make it your default browser. It finds your browsers and profiles on its own.
- Add a rule for each client’s Slack. Set From... to Slack, pick the client’s workspace, and choose their profile. Discord servers and Notion workspaces work the same way.
- If a client’s email comes into Apple Mail, add a rule from Mail and pick that client’s Account. Links in their email then open in their profile.
- For links that can come from anywhere, start from an example link, like a file on acme.sharepoint.com, and choose any page on acme.sharepoint.com.
- Set your Fallback Browser to your own profile. Links that match no rule go there.
Questions
Yes, for most links. SharePoint and OneDrive for work links name the client in their address, like acme.sharepoint.com, so one rule per client sends them to that client’s profile. Links from a client’s Slack workspace or Mail account work too. What Bouncer can’t do yet is tell which Teams org you clicked a link in.
No. Bouncer opens profiles in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and Dia, and spaces in Arc, so you can keep each client in the browser you like.
They open in your fallback browser and profile. When one lands in the wrong place, open the Bouncer menu and choose Create Rule from “…” to send that client’s links to their profile from now on.
Rules by Slack workspace or Mail account need the Accessibility permission, so Bouncer can see which workspace or account a link came from. Bouncer reads this on your Mac and sends nothing anywhere.
Velja’s rules can match the app a link came from, but not the Slack workspace or Mail account inside it. Bouncer matches both, so two clients in the same Slack app can go to two profiles. Bouncer also opens Safari profiles, which Velja can’t. See the full comparison.
